Winning Hearts and Minds

You know when you melt 3/4 pound of butter and a pound of bittersweet chocolate together, only good things can happen.
In this case? Two Winning Hearts and Minds cakes, from the food memoir, A Homemade Life by Molly Wizenburg. It is a great summer beach read, people. And it is full of lovely recipes. Can't wait to try this one, but wait I must. After they cool, they are going into the freezer (apparently they are even better after they've been frozen and allowed to come back to room temperature before serving). I will pull them out of the freezer on Friday before I head out to join my girl Sarah's tribe for some Okanagan sun.

  1. Oh, yes I loved that book. I just borrowed it from the library though and didn't try any of the recipes though as I was dying to as I read through it. It was so well written I didn't want to put it down. I think I'd like to reread it and make everything as go.

  2. Sheesh! You are on a roll, sister! Love it and am totally inspired! I have no such plans to drag jam-making equip to Valdes, but I'll think of you when I'm 'busy' drinking wine and eating copious amounts of fresh oysters on the half shell...
